My name is Dave. I am an alcoholic. I have been sober since July 2022. Coming out of the fog of addiction, I had to completely rebuild my mind, my body, my soul, and my internal defense system. ** A Crucial Note For My Recovery Family**
Because my sobriety is my foundation, it took me a long time to feel safe taking my own tinctures due to the alcohol required for stage 2. If you are in recovery, I know the hesitation you feel looking at a tincture bottle, my Doctor was shocked when I told him I was uncertain about using mouthwash), so I get it.
Her is why I take my tinctures daily, confidently, and why I build them differently:
- No Spirits, No Association: I strictly refuse to use commercial liquors or spirits in my lab. Instead, I utilize Pure Organic Sugarcane Alcohol (food grade). There is no smell, taste, or subconscious association with “drinking”. It is strictly an industrial solvent used to dissolve the non-water-soluble triterpenes.
- The Math Behind The Serving: A standard dose of these tinctures is just a couple squeezes of the dropper plunger (about 1 to 2 mL) diluted into a glass of water, juice, tea, or whatever, really. By the time it hits your lips, the actual alcohol content per serving is less than what you find in a ripe banana or a glass of orange juice. (IMPORTANT!! Make suer to shake the bottle before use, and make sure to stir whatever you mix the tincture with. The alcohol will rise to the top if allowed to sit for too long and it can be a very unpleasant surprise).
